Congrats To GENE Rocket League
Congrats to GENE Rocket League who took home our first ever State Esports Title, defeating Wylie in a clean sweep in the finals. In addition, our Overwatch team placed 5th in the state and two individuals placed in the top 25 Super Smash Bros. Players in the state!

All FIVE Teams Competed At The High School BBQ Inc. - HSBBQ Rockwall Regional
On Saturday, all FIVE teams competed at the High School BBQ Inc. - HSBBQ Rockwall Regional. Not only did they face off against teams from across the state, they also went toe to toe with Mother Nature. We cannot express how proud we are of these Pitmasters. Facing weather, equipment issues and pauses in the cook due to the elements, EVERY team secured a spot at the State Championships in April.

Manufacturing students at the GBCCA demonstrated the skills they learned on the CNC and Laser machines to make charcuterie boards for the Rockwall ISD School Board members.
EMT Students Practice Essential Lifesaving Skills
EMT students at Gene Burton College & Career Academy had the unique opportunity to use the Rockwall ISD aquatic center for hands-on water rescue training. This session allowed them to practice essential lifesaving skills, including patient extrication, spinal immobilization in water, and teamwork in aquatic emergencies. By incorporating real-world scenarios, our students gain practical experience that prepares them for future emergency situations.
GBCCA DECA Attends State Career Development Conference; Four State Finalists And One Advancing To Internationals!
Twenty-one competitors from the GBCCA DECA chapter joined 6,600 business, marketing, finance and entrepreneurship students at the State career development conference. Congratulations to the following students who were awarded for their individual ability and achievement at the State level:

The Law & Order Students Competed In Houston
On February the 22nd, the Law & Order students traveled to Houston Texas to compete in the TXPSTA (Texas Public Service Teacher Association) State Competition. All of the students worked really hard to get to this level. It was one of the most competitive years we have ever seen, with almost five hundred competitors. However, several of our students were able to come out on top.

FCCLA 2024-2025 Fashion Design competition team attended the FCCLA State 2023 Fashion Design competition on April 10th - 13th in Dallas, Tx. Out of 11 amazing students who attended this competition, 7 of these talented designers placed in the top 5 of three different categories consisting of Fashion Design and Fashion Construction.

A group of Mrs. Amos’ Practicum of Graphic Design students had the opportunity to step inside the creative world of advertising during a special visit to TRG, a renowned advertising firm located in the heart of Deep Ellum, Texas.
