In The Spotlight
Veterans Day Ceremony
Our first annual Veterans Day event was an incredible success! We were overwhelmed by the amazing turnout—more people came than we could have imagined! It was truly heartwarming to see our community come together to honor the men and women who have served our country.
Silver Club Members Spent Morning at GBCCA
Our Silver Club members spent their morning at the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy where students shared their experiences in various CTE programs we offer. They enjoyed a presentation of the colors from our newest program, Marine Corps JROTC.
A Strong Start
People who succeed in business, industry and education have often developed a strong self-discipline, an ability to lead and motivate others and a well-rounded maturity.
Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) teaches young men and women the kind of self-discipline, self-confidence and leadership skills that can help them successfully meet the challenges of adulthood.
MCJROTC Curriculum, instruction and activities are designed to develop the leadership abilities of each student regardless of which career path is followed.
Eligibility for a MCJROTC program requires students to be; citizens of the United States, of good moral character, physically fit, be in a grade above 8th grade, and attend a high school with a MCJROTC unit.
Our Mission
The MCJROTC program mission is to develop courageous, character-driven young adults who poss the attributes of personal responsibility and accountability in order to become model citizens in service to the United States.
Benefits of Marine Corps JROTC Program
While cadets are under no obligation to join the military services, some do enlist. And many take advantage of higher education opportunities such as college, business school, or trade school.
NROTC scholarships are available at more than 50 colleges and universities throughout the country. A successful record in MCJROTC will also reflect favorably on the young man or woman seeking an appointment to any of the United States service academies.
Credit may be given for the first year course of senior ROTC upon approval of the college or university or male MCJROTC cadets who qualify may enroll in the Platoon Leaders Class Officer Candidate Program upon graduation from high school. The cadet who successfully completes the MCJROTC program can enter the military service with a higher entry
level pay grade.
MCJROTC provides young men and women with an excellent opportunity to build strong and lasting friendships.
